Ashley M. Ivey LPTA, Rehabilitation Manager

Ashley joined the I-CARE Team in 2000 at the age of 14 as a clerical assistant. Since that time, she knew she wanted to be in the healthcare field. At a young age, her passion and emphasis has been to make a difference in the life of individuals with life changing/life altering illnesses. The field of Physical Therapy is where Ashley chose to contribute her compassion to those in need.
Ashley graduated, Cum Laude in 2010 from Northern Virginia Community College Medical Education Campus in Physical Therapy. Ashley passed the State Licensing Board Exam and became a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in Virginia in July of 2010.
During Ashley’s clinical internships and work experience she has performed many tasks in the healthcare field. Her duties included co-treating with Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy, using and providing in-services on various modalities such as Diathermy and Traction. She also treated patients in the intensive care unit and cardiovascular unit and managed a full case load while coordinating care with support personnel when necessary.
As the Rehabilitation Manger at I-CARE Inc. Ashley fosters positive interoffice relationships and facilitates a team player attitude. Ashley manages the day-to-day Outpatient Rehabilitation Care Center; with the main focus on goal oriented treatments.
Ashley’s professional goal is to continue to enhance her knowledge of disabilities and diseases using evidence based practices, with an array of clinical applications. Ashley has a true passion for patients with neurological deficits and disorders. She previously was employed at a hospital in Northern Virginia where she gained acute care physical therapy experience in the areas of orthopedics, neurology, renal and oncology. She continues to be passionate about the care and wellbeing of patients with the understanding that home PT is just the start not the end of the rehabilitation process.
Ashley works in the community, being a volunteer in the Arlington Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless, tutoring/mentoring, assisting in the Clyde E. Woodruff (CEW) organization, a foundation focused on encouraging and promoting youth in the community. She also participates and is a leader in various church community events.
